A New Adventure

Follow my blog with Bloglovin I'm really excited for my new adventure. I've been teaching 1st grade at a year-round private school in Kirkland, Washington for the past two years. In June I was offered a new job teaching fifth grade at an elementary school in Kent, Washington! I am so happy to have this new opportunity. Admittedly I'm nervous since I'm going from a 1st grade classroom to a fifth grade classroom. I know there are huge difference between fifth graders and first graders. I taught third graders for student teaching and a year long but have never been in a fifth grade classroom for more than a month. I also do not have a lot of materials for fifth grade. Most of my supplies and library are for 2nd and 3rd grade since I taught an advanced first grade which used the 2nd grade common core standards. I'll slowly be acquiring new books for my class. Any good suggestions for book series for fifth graders or advice?
